ICO consultation on a new chapter within the draft updated guidance on storage and access technologies

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is consulting on a new chapter within the draft updated guidance on storage and access technologies (previously known as the ‘detailed cookies guidance’).
This new chapter contains updates to our guidance following the introduction of the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
Your responses will help us to provide any additional further clarity required in the final guidance update. You can respond to the consultation via our survey on Citizen Space.

We welcome feedback to the questions set out in the survey. This survey is split into the following sections:
- Section 1: Your views on our proposed regulatory approach
- Section 2: About you and your organisation
- Section 3: Questions to assess the impact of our approach
- Section 4: Final comments
The consultation will remain open until the end of 26 September 2025. We may not consider responses received after this deadline.
