The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has been served with an Enforcement Notice as a result of evidence seen by the Commissioner about its performance in relation to its statutory duties under the Freedom of Information Act. This notice follows a Practice Recommendation the Commissioner served on the FCDO in 2024, which although resulting in some performance improvements, these were ultimately not sufficient or sustained. The Enforcement Notice requires the FCDO to ensure that its FOI performance meets the requirements set out in Annex 1 of the notice.
