The complainant has requested, from the Home Office, information about reports produced by the Research, Information and Communications Unit (RICU) and RICU staff. The Home Office refused to disclose the requested information, on the basis of section 24(1) of FOIA (‘national security’). The Commissioner’s decision is that the Home Office was correct to rely on section 24(1). The Commissioner doesn’t require any steps.
