Next steps
As explained in this report, we’ve written to the employers we spoke to that are likely to be undertaking ADM in their recruitment process. In these letters, we set out our findings and specific recommendations. We’ve given these employers a set date to take the necessary steps to improve their compliance with data protection law.
As a result of our discussions, 16 employers have already confirmed that they’ll act on our recommendations. This is a positive first step in securing trust in the technology.
We’ll also continue to set clear expectations for the responsible use of ADM in recruitment. We’ve updated our guidance on ADM and profiling, which is now open to consultation.
We’ll update our draft guidance on recruitment and selection in 2026 following changes brought in as part of the DUAA 2025. This will be published in due course.
