Step 4: Prioritise actions
-
Due to the Data (Use and Access) Act coming into law on 19 June 2025, this guidance is under review and may be subject to change. The Plans for new and updated guidance page will tell you about which guidance will be updated and when this will happen.
Now that you have assessed the extent of your service’s impacts on children’s rights you should create an action plan for addressing the risk areas highlighted in your risk assessment. You can apply the Children’s code recommendations to reduce the severity of the risks.
To support you we’ve developed an action plan worksheet, found on the second page in the self-assessment risk tool. This allows you to work through areas in order of risk levels, and gives practical steps you may wish to consider taking to mitigate them. This worksheet also contains an action plan template that you can use to capture the actions you intend to take.
