The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 got Royal Assent on 19 June 2025. All the provisions affecting data protection law and the Privacy and Electronic Regulations Communications are now in force. The Department for Science and Innovation (DSIT) has set out the commencement plans. You can find more details on the Gov.uk website.

10 July 2026 - We've updated the privacy notice generator for staff and volunteer information to reflect changes introduced by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and following review of the content.
7 July 2026 - We’ve updated the sector-specific versions of the privacy notice generator to reflect changes introduced by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. These updates are available for the following sectors:
- general business, including retail and manufacturing;
- professional services, including finance, insurance and legal services;
- education and childcare;
- health and social care; and
- charity and voluntary.

19 August 2024 - We've updated the privacy notice generator for staff and volunteer information based on feedback. We've amended the content on lawful bases, international transfers, data sharing and individual rights.
