The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has been served with an Enforcement Notice as a result of evidence seen by the Commissioner about its performance in relation to its statutory duties under the Freedom of Information Act. This notice follows a Practice Recommendation the Commissioner served on the MOD in October 2024 and a previous Enforcement Notice which was served in June 2023. This Enforcement Notice requires the MOD to ensure that its FOI performance meets the requirements set out in Annex 1 of the notice.
