1.    The complainant has requested information relating to the conviction and sentencing details for a named individual identified in news reports as having been convicted in February 2025 in Telford for the possession of child sexual abuse material. West Mercia Police (WMP) relied on section 40(2) (personal information) and section 21 (information reasonably accessible) of FOIA to withhold the information.
2.    The Commissioner’s decision is that WMP was entitled to refuse the request under section 21 of FOIA and section 40(2) of FOIA.
3.    The Commissioner does not require further steps as a result of this decision.
