The People Services directorate leads the ICO's people agenda across the organisation, providing clarity, professional support, and direction.

  • ensuring our processes, policies and procedures cultivate our values and high performance. 

Strategy, Development and Inclusion

The Strategy, Development and Inclusion team is responsible for driving delivery of the ICO workforce strategy and our equality, diversity and inclusion objectives and action plan.  

The team’s work includes oversight of ICO activity in relation to strategic workforce planning, talent management and development, leadership development, learning and development, early career pathways and relationships, employee engagement and culture, equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.  

Employee Relations and Business Partnering

The Employee Relations and Business Partnering team is responsible for ensuring the development and delivery of the ICO’s core employee relations and people management functions.  

The team’s work includes workforce policy development and compliance, employee relations, responding to employment law changes and horizon scanning, managing organisational change and providing business partnering support to the organisation’s executive directors.  

Reward, Talent Acquisition and Operations

The Reward, Talent and Operations team is responsible for the ICO’s pay and reward strategy and delivery, talent acquisition and management of operational HR services delivered through the HR service centre and our payroll team.  

The team’s work includes developing the ICO’s approach to workforce intelligence and analytics, ensuring and developing effective and innovative pay and reward arrangements and positioning the ICO as an employer of choice to potential new recruits.
