Seminars group A
You can choose one seminar from each group to attend on conference day.
Delegates tell us they like the practical advice they get from ICO experts, external speakers and panellists.
No need to pre-book – you’ll get instructions on how to join during the conference. In the meantime, we’ve got information about each session to help you choose.
The ripple effect: how can you stop the ripple?
Every data breach, no matter how small, has a ripple effect. It could be physical, emotional or psychological. The people who are affected by these breaches can experience real-world harms, far beyond a simple “admin error”.
This session will help you to understand these harms. You will feel confident engaging your wider organisation in conversations about the human impact of data protection. And you’ll have practical tools and tips to ensure people are at the heart of your organisation’s breach response and data protection practices.
We'll use examples and case studies to demonstrate how organisations are implementing the ripple effect campaign.
This session is aimed at data protection officers and anyone handling personal data as part of their role.
Beyond the headlines: actionable insights and lessons learned from cyber attacks
With several high-profile cyber attacks in the news recently, organisations need to make sure they’re protected against cyber threats. Recent cyber attacks in the news show the importance of taking steps to help you avoid falling victim.
We want to promote the discussion of cyber attacks, viewing them as opportunities to share good practice and lessons learned. We also want to highlight any actionable insights that you can take away and implement in your organisation to improve data security.
This seminar is aimed at data protection officers, chief information security officers and information security managers. Although we will cover some technical elements, you do not need to be an expert to attend this session.
The evolving world of freedom of information: current issues in request handling
This session will cover some of the recent issues in freedom of information requests, such as the use of WhatsApp and how AI plays a role in request handling.
It is aimed at all levels of freedom of information practitioners in all sectors. We are taking questions in advance, as well as on the day, so please submit them via the online form.
